A fair amount of lightning and outflow winds around NEU…
Be there rain with it?
Not much …
Are you shooting from the hip on your statement? Or do you have factual evidence to support your statement of “not much?” I drove down 80 from the stateline to the colfax area and I 100% factually got hit with torrential downpour of rain for miles. Colfax/Applegate also got rain.
We got moments of moderately heavy rain here (Greenville 95947), but nothing sustained. We also received quite a few lightning strikes. Twenty five miles from here much less rain landed. I think that’s the reality of narrowly focused transient storms. One area might receive a deluge, and a nearby area little or no precipitation.
I was basing it off what happened where I was standing… a lot of lightning.. both cloud to cloud and down strikes. For nearly two hours we had lightning and thunder.. During that time two brief showers that did not wet the ground.
That is the nature of convective storms.
Factually based on what I saw.. I am sure you can look up rain fall totals on the RAWS sites if you would like to draw a different conclusion.
Basically what I experienced in Myers also. Lots of lightning, very little rain. This morning a couple of small fires popped up in El Dorado County.
Impressive buildup across the eastern horizon from Chico. Looks like it extends from Nevada to the Klamath.
Daylight darkness in Greenville! Much more so than yesterday. Little precip, lots of lightning.
So glad its not Aug..
Still pretty hot and things are pretty dry.
