Wss watching this for about an hour yesterday afternoon when the cell went over it. It grew rapidly. Couldnt find any info on it on this site, Finally found it this AM on the Great Basin site under NV fires. Name is Eastfork. Size this AM was 70 acres. Havent had time to track it today.
This fire is 5 air miles from my home (No threat). Earlier it was 300 acres, but has grown from there. Finally getting the heavy ironā¦LATS, Type 1 Helos etc. Problem here is that there are about 10 fires burning in this area from lightning. Lots of competing for resources due to threats. Fire has no road access so everyone has to be flown in. To much longer it will burn to more populated areas. Still the same fuel types, grass, sage, PJ, some mixed timber.
last reported at 20:15: 565 acres and 10% contained

Lots of aircraft on the fire this morning. LAT, VLAT, numerous seats and several type 1 helicopters.
Fire activity is really starting to pick up on the Hawkins peak camā¦ also, the dispatch was very scratchy but Iām pretty sure AEU sent a couple engines to this fire earlier this afternoon.

I believe an IR flight has been ordered for tomorrows operation map. It will be revealing in terms of where the fire perimeter is.
