IC: 10,000 acres. 1hr from Pine Canyon Rd. Ordering 10 Type I ST.
KTLA is showing a livestream that is showing massive downdrafts and what appears to be a column trying to collapse. Heavy spotting too.
They had ordered 10 much earlier, wonder if its 10 more for a total of 20 ?
Dep Ops confirmed 20 total
I can see the column collapsing from my house.
Not entirely sure that column collapse will be an issue. There are no factors that will likely lead to that. The area does not see rapid cool downs at night, and there are no significant topographical features to drive that. I would expect the heat to continue to push the column vertically and the fire will slow its spread for awhile, until the winds shift based on its proximity to the desert. I would also bet that in the am the fire will look like a circle, with each flank remaining active all night.
per live feed fire has multiple spots across pine canyon rd
Just crossed Pine Canyon
Looks well established already across to me.
