Especially if they are local and can get home, swap crews, etc and be fresh and ready for call if/when needed. Nothing worse than being stuck on an incident waiting around “staging” in a dirt parking lot for days, when your relief is sitting back at the station and you’re both on the clock getting paid doing “nothing”.

Son is in Angeles Oaks on 38. Says it looks like the fire is going to slide around there and continue NE. Already passing Keller Peak from cam view.
