The spot doesn’t exist anymore. The main head already sucked it in.
On Indian Ridge Cam, it looks like things are really starting to cook hard east the Seneca area - a separate head from the part which is blowing up in Wolf Creek west of Greenville, maybe spreading up Long Valley? There was some heat in the VIIRS imagery on the northern finger here. Running away from this view - looking north toward Keddie Ridge. This is probably going to hit Highway 89 hard to the east of Canyondam.
Sounds like fire near Greenville is getting close to Highway 89 near Old Haun Road, shown center right of this image. The IR in this image is many hours old, now.
The column appears to be going straight over Hamilton Mtn cameras. This fire might be bumping the 2020 Hog and Sheep Fires by the time we’re done with it, and maybe sooner than later.
2 questions:
1)Why are they tell people to evacuate the “peninsula” to a shelter in Chester…which is closer to the fire?
2)wasn’t DIV C black lined?
With the spots now showing on thermal, it looks to be on top of the RR tracks now, and I doubt 89 will be long behind.
CHP Reporting Fire has crossed over 89 at MM24 Wolf Creek Grade at 16:02
Branch xx on command is moving resources. Multiple spots.
Someone please tell me that I’m wrong in that the spot on the lower left is Greenville proper? It appears to me that is where Greenville is in relation to that image and the whole thing is on fire. Anyone?
Greenville proper is behind the ridge I believe
Ok thank you.
Wherever it is, on the Digital Path live cam it appears to have been sucked into main fire
Hidden Mickey?
I’m seeing torching behind over the top of Mt. Stover - I don’t think it’s on Stover, just visible behind it on Butt Mountain. (If it was on Stover, things are done for).
Current view from Chester, showing three distinct columns (this is the clearest the air’s been in two weeks):
Lots of pics of this one being shared - but this one (stolen from twitter) from a commercial flight does show what a monster this one is:
Just looked up Stover on the map. I assumed it was on the East Zone. If there is an established spot West of Chester…no bueno.
Per CHP Fire about jump 89 between West Shore and Prattville. Also about to jump 36.
