I saw that they fired it. Some of the IR maps showed a few spots across A21. Iā€™m really hoping they were able to pick them up and hold the road? Then everything got quiet! I hate quiet! Holding my breath. Our firefighter have been working their fannys off! This one has not been easy. From one side of the Sierra to the other. I tip my hat to my fellow brother and sister firefighters!

Caught scratchy traffic of an order for 37 more dozers to East Sector? Giant header visible

Just returned from 25 days out thereā€¦. Some of the most defeating days. One step forward and two steps back. Communities that had been considered safe for weeks all of the sudden, they were gone. Fire came through like a freight train some days literally shaking the very ground you were standing on. Couldnā€™t even get away from the smoke on our rest periods. Had to tell so many people, sorry but we tried! Some of the craziest Fire behavior Iā€™ve ever seen! Stay strong out there all! Keep fighting the good fight and get some rest soon!!!

This thingā€™s seriously going all the way to Susanville, isnā€™t it? Or at the very least Janesville.

Anyone notice or have info on the wisp of smoke appearing on the same mountain as the Indian Hill camera? It would be just north east of the camera. Starts around 17:20 on the 3 hour timelapse ALERTWildfire | Shasta Modoc.

That smoke has been appearing for several days. I believe itā€™s within the burn perimeter.

A couple of hours ago AA pilot reported smoke billowing over the escarpment into the valley/Susanville, didnā€™t know how far the fire had progressed, but had serious doubts about the Sheep fire burn scar holding the fire.

Less active zones are shaking down resources to move to East Zone. DP 161

Cheers to Team 3 for keeping resource management fluid under changing conditions. Doesnā€™t happen enough.

Currently in Janesville. Theyā€™re definitely preparing for something big.

Is the bid column sighed from Quincy the east zone or north side of the west zone?

Itā€™s the East zone

The big column from Quincy is viewed from the south of the fire looking at the the east zone

Thanks , itā€™s not slowing down anytime soon!

The column might be burning into some thicker, unburned forest on the south side of the Moonlight Scar. GOES-17 isnā€™t pinpoint accurate on its spatial coords, but here is what I found.
