Going to be a long night for the peninsula. Pulling crews back into structure protection.

Per scanner, fire is still 5-6 miles away, but making runs towards Antelope Lake.

Charlie strike team to report to westwood.

5-6 miles from the peninsula?

Itā€™s 6~ miles from Janesville.

Almanor. Thereā€™s concern the fire will jump Hwy 36, in between the causway and A13

Flir cams in the Westwood direction are awfully ugly. It sounds like they are fanning out along 36. Per scanner, they ā€œhave a bunch of dozersā€ up near 36/A13.

You sure about the location in regards to Antelope lake because they were talking about impacts in the Fruit Growers and WIldcat area.

That was per scanner traffic. Im listening in on the Lassen scanner tonight.

I referencing the same broadcast, they were also talking about if it crosses Fruit Growers/Wildcat they were going to trigger notifications.

Didnt catch that, but you may be right. Report I heard was it was making runs within the Diamond unit. May not have caught the rest.

Hate to ask this but is there a link for the West side branch? Iā€™ve the Fed side but canā€™t find the CF side.

Nope. Donā€™t think the ground truth has reached the decision makers for that. 24 cell sites down between Chester and Reno, all carriers. Residences near a portable cell tower (COW cell on wheels) deployed near Susanville ICP, and Lassen EOC would likely get any wireless emergency alert (WEA) messages sent, but otherwise consider that alert system non-functional.

Which means listen to your gut to get out of the fireā€™s way instead of waiting for the text message from the government. It wonā€™t be coming.

Calls into Susanville CHP diverted to Redding CHP.
