Current AQI near the Sierra Springs Fire station in Sly Park is 1275. Hazardous is above 300, a bad day for most of us is around 150. This is the highest reading I’ve seen so far.
Thanks for the update, and for everyone out there doing amazing work! Stay safe.
Galt Police Officer LODD en route to the Caldor Fire
RIP
I have been watching the air attack for the Caldor fire for well over a week now. Today is the first day that there have been no planes or helicopters working the fire. I have seen a spotter plane twice today (this morning and right now). Does anyone have any info on why there is no air attack? globe.adsbexchange.com is the site I am using.
No air ops today due to lack of visibility.
Launching helicopters to Division Delta for spot fires
Just launched 4 Type 1s to Delta. Evaluating for fixed wing now.
Helco trying to get some resources to a safety zone
Sounds like the fire is getting close
25 acre spot in Div R
The smoke has cleared out. I am thinking the next 5 hours are going to absolutely kick our asses.
two VLATs ordered, but only one going to be flying at a time due to smoke.
I do hope they can get in…all cams are smoke in…hope it clears
Transport/Dozer 2744 just dispatched to DIV D.
Tanker 911 on the way!
911 was able to make it through the smoke and make their drop. You can see it on the Somerset cam. AA sounds really happy with it. Damn, those guys are good. And now a second good drop by the second VLAT.
Sounds like smoke is really thick today… Is it due to fire laying down or is it getting a head of steam?
914 has arrived from Santa Maria
