To bad they didn’t have that last night for Havilah not to say it would have been the ultimate game changer

Witness says big Whirls in fire area. Copters may have been able to fly.

Coulson Quick Reaction Force. Kern and Sequoia got spread too thin on this one, especially for the conditions and fuels in the Havilah area. Would it have made a difference; I’m not gonna second guess anyone flying in fire. We had decent fire behavior the first night of the Stagecoach fire, and I would guess the flashy fuels had a much heavier loading than what we experienced in 2020. I suspect this won’t stop before it hits Kelso Valley, and I’m glad I don’t have anything in Bodfish, Isabella, Mt Mesa or Southlake.

Hard to look at the pics of Havilah, I worked at that station back in the late 70s’. Lived in the Kern River Valley for 25 years working on the SQF. Not trying to Armchair QB.

Do you have any pictures that you can share?

Unfortunately not, wasn’t big into pics back then. Now everybody’s got a camera in their pocket.

Are you thinking the fire is going to burn east then move north into the squirrel valley area? Thx

0300 … Fire has remained pretty active thru the night with most area cams showing such. View below from the El Rancho cam in Tehachapi. Red Flag Warning remains in effect thru 2300 tonight. Last reported acreage as of 0300 was 38,447
