It is not out yet. It will likely be posted on the Mariposa County Oak Fire webpage when it does come out though…

Per the community briefing they will be notifying home and property owners face to face if possible if they lost something, I don’t think they will be posting it.

I think it won’t come out until everyone has been notified in person

Depends on the Calfire unit MMU didn’t put out a structure assessment for the creek fire that was publicly available and phone call notifications were done.

Not sure how we needed scientists to tell us that….

The drama of these articles and news reports are killing me. The agenda is at 110% full throttle. Love watching them don their respirators and goggles to just rip them off as soon as the filming is over with. Can’t wait til the seasonal winds are here. Emmy award performances inbound.

Actually, I would compare this to fires we use to have when I first started 40 years ago and some change. This would of been a big fire back then. YardDog and Capt45 you Sirs are dead on.

I’m happy to cut the scientists and reporters some slack. They aren’t trying to tell US anything. They’re speaking to the wider public; the same folks we try to reach all year long, and, fortunately, with the same message. So as long as they’re “packing water for us,” I say let’s cheer them on.
As for reporters, if they’re in shiny clean nomex on the smoky roadway, the FIO is doing their job. Reporters are going to get a story one way or another. If they aren’t getting it with a backdrop of flames, smoke and crew buggies, they’ll be getting their “facts” from evacuees at the Red Cross center, or worse, from other reporters in fire camp. We may smirk a bit when we see them, but they’re generally doing us a favor and we should let ‘em be.

as a fly crew supervisor, it was never a bother about dealing with the press at the top of a fire. However a lot can be accomplished with a good PIO and even a good comment by even from a firefighter to a chief to bring your points to there proper prospective,: such as conditions, pre defensible space, to hazed air and ground troops are up against. also have been involved with this fire is a very hazardous situations such as with the dead bug kill trees, down heavy fuels and not to mention the highly rugged terrain…etc… If we can convey to the press the facts…we do not have any control with the facts. we can only try to do what we can to get the real story out there…bottom line is work with them as best as we can
