The Garnet Fire continues to gobble acres, but the weather is cooling down a bit, and shortly, the fire will run out of mountains to run to the top of.
Tonight’s Lookout Livestream tracks today’s developments on the fire. We also talk about the Blue and Dillon Fires, and how tactics that look easy on a map may actually be impossible or deadly to try to pull off on the ground.
We finish the broadcast with talking about the seasonal transition from fire season to prescribed burning season.
Garnet Cams are very quiet today…
Its a nice weather change.
Yes! Very nice day.

The scoopers have been working division D above balch camp continuing what the QRF was doing last night.
What are the outstanding resource orders for the Garnet?
Day crew heading home 7:10 PM
Live community meeting 530p
I’m still wondering, trying to get out as a line medic
Don’t worry brother. The request will come when the universe decides it is time.
I haven’t seen the outstanding orders but they always need good medics out there. Be patient and stay the course. The call will come, we just never know when it will be. Stay ready.
They’ll probably make requests as needed when other EMPFs time-out. Does your agency accept name requests for overhead positions? If so, when you deploy show your worth and get on the “good list” with the MEDL. That way when the team is deployed, the MEDL knows you’re solid and can request you specifically through IROC. It can be a lot faster than a general request trickling down through your region and its various OAs.
Auberry “helicase” is open and I think fuel delivery guy is lost, two tanks of jet A headed up auberry through meadow lakes.
Yeah my agency does, just gotta get out there and start networking.
