With a new team coming in, i wonder if they open/movr a new basecamp on the Northside of the fire?

Maybe a bigger question is will the new team have a PACE map and forward planning to the north and west?

Not from FIRIS, but from NIROPS. Interagency supprt from Federal agencies (to include DoD)and CAL FIRE IR assests map our fires in California daily. Sometimes 2-4 times a day to provide situational awarness to incident resources. Each GACC helps support mission planning with incredible flight crews and IMTs or local units. FIRIS provides heavy lift support to IAs or fires that are threatning critical infrastructure. As with this fire and all others, many people behind the scenes making things happen for the ground pounders.

With all the activity on the north and west side of the Garnet I think that is a real possibility. I hope not though, been there, done that 10 years ago.

If I remember right, Rough Fire ICP base camp moved 4 times? I was on that fire 66 days as a water tender.

4 LATs were working the next objective a contingency line with double dozer wide line and retardant double wide in Fence meadows. AA updates he has T121 enroute… 3 spots already over the line that he’s hoping T121 will catch…
Impressive column building Delilah Cam2

Air attack asked Div A if he could start firing his line because she did not think it would hold from the advancing fire. Div A stated he did not have enough resources. Looks like they will potentially have to fall back to the Sacate Ridge line.

If you can’t quench the source of the spots, its not clear that a 20 blade-wide will help.
You kind of want to suppress the source to the extent possible AND catch the spots.
Good on AA for asking if the contingency line can be fired now.

Too bad that Div A doesn’t think he can.

Div A or Div D? Looking at the map anything across Div A would be across the Kings River to the south.

Anyone know what column is showing on the buck rock 2 cam? Area has a tombstone fire listed at 20 acres, sure looks bigger than that. Anyone have updates? Looks to be about 5 air miles from Garnet.
