Looks like a few Charlie’s are being demobed and headed to the Garnet.
Team 1 still has a lot of work to do on the Salt.
The only “real” SRA is around Shaver lake (edison land) and the 168 area going down…i think the private lands near Dinky and farther out on Dinky creek road may be SRA but are federal DPA…?
The pending threat to Shaver may trigger the need for a second team, possibly a CAL FIRE team
2 is on Hard Cover. Would be them.
I’ll be livestreaming the latest perimeters and looking at the mapping in 3d at 6pm.
So is this fire going all the way to Maxon on the Western edge?
We have talked a bit about how critical infrastructure does not get the attention it needs until it is under severe threat of being overrun. The French Meadow infrastructure is definitely in that category. Not being a finance guy here, but it would seem that putting some Type 2 crews in place well ahead of any direct fire would potentially save a lot hurry scurry activities when the fire does approach those sites and give the fireline crews an opportunity to be effective in other areas. Just thinking aloud here
Not unless there is a serious east wind event.
It all seems a little #rough to me
Multiple Charlie’s on SOPS cover assignments being dispatched. Appears the state is starting to pull the pin…
Shining bright on the ‘far away’ [North Fork Cam] too (ALERTWest - North Fork 1)
The fire hit a decision point for the state.
Imo.. Be proactive or reactive - i’m for proactive on this one! “We” can armor-up a large glider (and other craft) to withstand the abuse from re-entry through earths atmosphere so i’m 100% positive that "we"could construct and or harden our infrastructure on mountaintops to withstand the abuse from wildfire IF there was profit in doing so for the fabricators & manufactures. It’s beyond lame that unless there is profit in doing something - even when it is in publics best interest - it probably wont get done without acts of congress or laws or peoples lives being lost. #facts #merica
Awesome shot on the Deliah 1 cam at 2 frames back from where it turns to white light At 19:57:49 on the clock. I tried to upload, but to no avail
We looked at a bunch of different IR for the fire to reconstruct the past 24 hours of burning:
Watch the last 3 hours of FenceMeadow2.
It was bright enough to remain in color rather than to revert to panchromatic.
Another watch out situation occurring over the next 48 hours, CIIMT 10 is transitioning the fire to CIIMT 5. Not a jab at either team, but transitions generally bring operational challenges as existing ideas meld with new ones.
