East flank is cranking. Interesting to see how much heat is being produced by the Slink Fire, near Lake Topaz/Coleville.

Usually you don’t have two AA over any incident at the same time. Not a real good idea for safe operating airspace

There was probably a lead plane at the fire and not 2 AA.

No Tankers were on the fire yesterday.

AA51 flying around 17000 feet same altitude when they were mapping the fire, flight pattern was similar too while N47TT was at 11000 feet on the south end.

Not a ton of heat showing on the GOES 17 or Firemappers map. I assume that is promising, but also due to current weather.

Looking at the cameras I wouldn’t be surprised to see a header or two start building soon, it looks like the inversion is breaking.

Last briefing here https://www.facebook.com/SequoiaNF/videos/997568507348329/from Team 12, Northern Rockies Team 2 takes over tomorrow. Concern yesterday was Div Y, near Freeman Creek and whether that would hold and it looks good for now, building line down to the Kern, which is good news. Flying para-cargo in using a smokejumper plane to support crews in X-ray at the southern tip to support spiked crews. More spiked crews and tanks being set up near Beach Meadows and Oso Meadows, right flank near the bottom, with more spiked crews taking action there, in Div N/U

Yeah, looks like heat signatures starting back up on GOES.

The castle fire is active and closing in on the shotgun fire and a little bit up the Kern canyon is the rattlesnake fire, also the moraine fire barely visible further north.

by chance, have an overlay of McNally fire burn???
seems to be paralleling that burn which is 18 years old

I don’t have a map but the schaeffer burned across the McNally scar for 15k and the castle has burned through that burn, it’s more or less through the northern half of the McNally burn. It really cranked up late this afternoon in that section. It’s well on the Inyo now also.
