The wide view currently. The Foresthill cam shows it moving up the slope quite quickly (to an untrained eye).

Station 63 covers the burg of Volcanoville…pretty much one road in and out, right on the top of the rim of the American.
Fire impacting Volcanoville Rd. with spots on the south side of the road
Looks like that’s right where T911 just made a drop
Along with Tanker 01. Been watching the orbit on AA500 and he is centered south of Volcanoville Rd. between Kentucky Flat and Tin Ranch
Shared responsibility fires have a formal signed “Cost Share Agreement.” To answer you question it is paid for by the agencies involved in the Agreement.
Yep same here… now T88 and T103 dropping along the same line. Definitely working that area hard right now. Been watching flight radar all morning and there’s been quite a shift in air resources to the south side of the American River in last hour or so.
Volcanoville rd is not a great place to fight fire.and after. It’s gonna be a struggle for sure
It means that my suspicions are probably right. But as @IMT_Geek stated, words matter, so I’ll keep those suspicions to myself, until the FS finishes their investigation. I’m confident it’ll be quick and conclusive
Back in the day, we use to treat Volcanoville Road, 50-100 feet off the edge of the road. I hope they have continued that practice.
I didn’t see it mentioned here, but earlier in the day Branch 5 was discussing plans for the Branch. He has six Limas and 10 private blades plus a number of alphas. The plan was to scrape from the Branch 5/10 break on the Ops map down towards Todd Valley. Alphas were getting structure prep with the ForestHill Group, and a few more alphas mixed with some 2IA crews embedding with the Todd Group to scout around.
Roadside treatments have continued in Volcanoville. It is also a Firewise Community which will help in the WUI firefight. Regardless not a good area for a fire to get established.
Abandoning staging at station 63 to much fire activity and don’t anyone coming up there
