9 posts were split to a new topic: Prescribed Fire Theory/discussion

Large Santa Anta event happening concurrently during the massive North Wind event. Tons of CAL FIRE rescouces prepositioning.

NWS Bay Area: Locally gusty winds may reach the valley floors in the North and East Bay at times. This will be the strongest offshore wind event of the current season and possible the strongest event since the North Bay Fires of October 2017.

Almost everything upgraded to Red Flag per NWS. Bad Hat Day.

Weather thread folks…there should be plenty to discuss about the weather…

Thank you.

Northeasterly winds will continue to ramp up through the day and
especially into the overnight hours. It appears the period of
strongest and most widespread wind gusts will occur this evening

Gusts from 20 to 40 mph are likely to mix down to
the valley floors of the North and East Bay at times overnight
tonight. Other populated and coastal locations, including favored
locations along the Bay shoreline (such as Oakland and Berkeley)
and San Francisco, may also experience occasional wind gusts from
20 to 40 mph.
