Yes, assigned in SF Wildcad on 7/4 under incident number HTF-30419
Per retiredbc2 Tamarack fire started on 07/04/21 and has been in monitor status until today at which time it transitioned to an active wildland fire. (Keep comments regarding this to a another post please).
Clearly in California
Yes, it is in CA but it is HTF DPA which is Great Basin, which is why it gets a NV identifier
It is written, it shall be done.
Any weather folks care to comment what this things potential/future is based upon this Sundays/Mondays weather outlook? Or people who know the landscape/terrain up there.
I’m selfishly wondering what its northern potential is.
Another shot from Tahoe this evening. Why is this not on the California/Hawaii region so the media and citizens know what is going on? Mods - please respond. The fire started July 4th.
Dozer Keith says “it is in CA but it is HTF DPA which is Great Basin, which is why it gets a NV identifier”
Although burning in California, the mass majority of the Humboldt–Toiyabe National Forest is managed by the Great Basin GACC and is their DPA. In fact, it’s one of the largest National Forests in the U.S. So, the fire will stay in the Great Basin thread.
Thank you
CA-AEU just assigned a strike team to it and I think there’s already a state dozer and 3 engines
Sounds like chaos right now, but anyone know if an ICP has been established yet? Turtle Rock? Guard Station?
If you want to talk about monitoring vs suppression do it in this thread!!
