Just a few tidbits about the upcoming storm. 500 mb temperatures are cold & 850 mb temperatures are extremely cold for this time of year, the storm will be moisture starved so there could be plentiful sunshine. The long length of daylight could over come the lack of moisture and produce convection / thunderstorms with accumulating graupel pretty much anywhere. A surface low approaching the central coast with strong winds could bring a favorable shear profile for several low topped discrete supercells with interesting storm structures due to the low moisture environment.

4-4-24 @ 1500hr a pretty good wet snow at the house, 3 to 4 inches have fallen this afternoon. 32 at the house in Sonora. Low snow levels Jamestown, Angles Camp, San Andreas and Mokelumne Hill all along the Hwy 49 corridor. Heard it was snowing in Moccasin at the bottom of Old and New Priest Grade Hwy 120. Now that would be a fun drive.

No fires in this area for awhile. Looked out at 0300 hrs and not snowing at all. Power goes out at 0530 take a look outside and WOW! Freaking mess out in Tuolumne county. As of right now 0730 all I hear are saws running clearing trees and branches. Stay Home if you can! 32 out light snow off and on. No wind at all. I’m lucky only lost one branch so far.

Yeah I can hear trees cracking all around me in Columbia. CHP log is filled with trees down. Power went out while I was sleeping but came back on. Everyone around us has no power and PG&E sent me a text about my power outage… Lol I wasn’t expecting it to be that much snow here in Columbia especially since it was mostly melted when I went to bed.

61 degree at meadow lakes 4300 feet with 3 inches of snow on the ground melting quickly. Weather station at bald mountain road says its 32… my anemometer and a 80 year old mercury thermometer disagree.

Full moon with cloud cover gave us a great pic last night. Lights of Sonora City and beyond in the background. After a couple of beautiful warm Spring Days, the low clouds and a little fog moved back in this morning. 51 out with the sun trying to make an apperance. Breezy this morning and chilly.
Get those piles burnt befor May 1. Cut banks and shallow rocky soil the grass is starting to turn a little heading down towards Oakdale. Planty of grass for feed and fires this year. Going to take some heat to dry this brush out.

Rainy windy night filled with lightning and thunder earlier on in the evening. This morning 5/8 in the gauge. Sunny this morning with a warming trend starting today. But we had a surprise show up 22:15 last night after the weather passed by. This guy walked right up to the garage back door like he owned the place.
Having trouble loading vidoes, if I can get it loaded I will post it.
