AA stated they don’t think they can hold 88 north of silver lake and plan on trying to hold it at thunder mountain where there is less fuel to keep it out of Kirkwood meadow.

Spots are at Martin meadows to the north of silver lake. DP15 in division p is just a little way from the Armstrong hill camera and no smokes there.

Heat plume really starting to build along ridge

I believe that bright line of fire to the left is the upper switchback on Johnson pass.

Mat Henderson is live on FB and showed one of the cabins that sit on the cliff edge on fire

From a firefighting source in Christmas Valley, the fire has jumped Highway 89 by the fire station up from Highway 50 and the spot is over 100 acres

They’ve abandoned efforts to address the spot fires East of 50 on the steep slope. KCRA just showed the 5-6 spots still burning below 50 (East of 50) with no fire crews around. They probably retreated to make a stand on flat ground with better escape routes. If the steeps burn into the night and up slope it may burn out fuels as they address structure protection down valley
